Sergeant Lee Bruce:

Sergeant Lee Bruce is an Alaska State Trooper with the Alaska Bureau of Investigation (ABI), supervising the Child Abuse Investigations Unit in Fairbanks.  He has been a trooper since 2008 and with ABI since 2009.  Prior to becoming a trooper, he was a credentialed federal agent with the Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI) conducting criminal investigations and counterintelligence/anti-terrorism operations.  He still serves his role with AFOSI in a reserve capacity.  He has a B.S. in Criminal Justice Administration and a M.S. in Security Management from Bellevue University.  He has been conducting on-camera child forensic interviews utilizing nationally recognized protocol since 2010.

Brittany Dunlop:

Brittany was born and raised in Fairbanks, Alaska. She earned her undergraduate degree at the University of Alaska Anchorage in 2003. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Hamline University School of Law in 2006, after which she turned immediately to prosecution. She began working at the Anchorage DA’s office in the summer of 2006. Brittany transferred to the Palmer DA’s Office in 2012. During her time with the department Brittany has prosecuted a wide variety of felony level crime; although for several years she has focused almost exclusively on domestic violence, sexual assault and child sexual abuse cases. She regularly instructs prosecutors, law enforcement officers and other professionals in the fields of child forensic interviewing, sexual assault investigations, and courtroom testimony.

Emma Haddix:

Emma was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska. She earned her undergraduate degree   at the Lewis & Clark College in 2003, after a semester overseas in Seville, Spain, at the   Center for Cross-Cultural Studies. She graduated from Northwestern School of Law of   Lewis & Clark College in 2006. Emma clerked for Superior Court Judge Aarseth before   beginning at the Anchorage DA’s office in the fall of 2006. Emma prosecuted a wide   variety of misdemeanor- and felony-level crime, with a special fondness for prosecuting   domestic violence cases. After two years in private practice, Emma joined the Attorney   General’s office to counsel and represent the Office of Children’s Services. She serves as   the Attorney General’s representative for the multidisciplinary teams in Anchorage and   Dillingham. Emma enjoys teaching OCS workers, law enforcement and other attorneys   on  forensic interviewing of children, and how to work together strongly with related   agencies to protect Alaska’s children.

Detective Leah Davies:

Detective Davies was raised in Alaska and loves the outdoor life experiences our great state offers. She enjoy being active in the community. Detective Davies has been employed with the Anchorage Police Department since 2002. She was assigned to the Crimes Against Children Unit until 2017 and was part of the Child Advocacy Center, Alaska CARES for 7 years. Over that time Leah has conducted hundreds of Child Forensic Interviews with children aged 3 and older. Leah is currently assigned to the Cyber Crimes Unit. She enjoys teaching new interviewers and sharing her past experiences with new people as well as learning from their experiences.

Cory Bryant:

Cory Bryant, MSW, ACC is a Trainer with the Child Welfare Academy at the University of Alaska Anchorage and provides training and technical assistance to professionals who work in the child maltreatment field. Cory has 25 years of experience working with children and families in the child welfare system. Before becoming a trainer, she led and developed programs at Providence Health and Services, Alaska CARES, the Child Advocacy Center in Anchorage. During Cory’s tenure at Alaska CARES, she provided hundreds of forensic interviews with children ages 3 to 18. Cory is excited to be a part of the training team for ChildFirst Alaska™.
